Tabernacle Orchestra

Wednesday we had the opportunity to go the Tabernacle and listen to the Orchestra at Temple Square play. It was our first time in the Tabernacle since the remodeling. Colby was really appreciative of the extra leg room that they have added. The building looked beautiful and the concert was amazing. The concert was dedicated to President Gordan B. Hinckley and the orchestra opened the concert by playing one of his favorite songs, Air from Suite No. 3 by J.S. Bach. The orchestra ended with Scheherazade: Symphonic Suite by Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov. An amazing piece based on the Arabian One Thousand and One Nights.

My Husband Tag

What is your husbands name? Colby, or as my family calls him, 'Colby Lou Sue Jack Cheese'
How long have you been together? Married for 6 years
Who said I love you first? I'm pretty sure he did, but I can't remember for sure.
Who is smarter? Definitely me, unless you ask him then he would say he is.
Who does the housework? Depends on the day and who has the most time.
Who sleeps on the right? Facing the bed he is on the right.
Who pays the bills? We both do.
Who cooks dinner? Most of the time he does but I plan the menus.
Who drives when you are together? He does, he is a horrible back seat driver so we are both happier if he is driving.
Who is more stubborn? Most of the time I do but it depends on the issue.
Who kissed who first? He did.
Who asked out who first? He did but it was really a date set up by his mother.
Who proposed? Technically he did but I mentioned marriage first (he got the deer in the headlights look when I brought it up).
Who has more siblings?I do, he has 2 brothers (one passed away) and one sister. I have three sisters and one brother.
Who wears the pants? I like to think that I do but most of the time he just doesn't care about the issue like I do.

I am so blessed to have Colby in my life. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't eat and nothing would get accomplished around our house. I have a tendency to get involved in outside events all the time and reminds me of things that need to happen around the house or tasks that I have forgotten. I love my papaya.

I tag Haven, Beth, Emlyn, Kim and Dacia.

Calling all Losers!

I have decided to issue the Biggest Loser Challenge to anyone who wants to compete. Here are the rules, because muscle weighs more than fat the contest is based off of inches and not pounds. Measure yourself at your calf, thigh, hips, waist, upper chest, bust and upper arms. Write it down and on the first Sunday of the month measure yourself again. Send me the changes you have and I will post the winners. Realize this is honor code so no cheating! Since Jocee and I started the contest in January I have lost two inches on my waist, 3/4 of an inch on my arms, one inch on my hips and I'm not going to say how much I have lost off my bust but know, dear reader, that I am aware and that is all that matters.

So grab those measuring tapes and let's see who really is the biggest loser!

Hiking Again

While in St. George I organized another hike. The weather was fabulous and in the 70's so I couldn't resist getting out into the hills. Jocee, Brejden, Milly, Jillian, Jordanne, D.J., Jillian's friend Emily, Paige, Riley, Erika, Haydn and Taite all went with me. (Also Cato, my dad's dog, and Mable, Riley and Erika's dog) We had a great time and as you can see, Milly and Taite had the best views.

We went north of Washington City, by the water tank, and saw some dinosaur tracks that my Grandpa McArthur found years ago. Unfortunately, I didn't know that the road we used to take no longer exists, thanks to a new housing development, and we did some off-roading to get to the tank without any prior warning to Riley and Erika. I don't think they knew exactly what they were agreeing to when they decided to go hiking with us.

Cato had a really good time chasing Mable around, he thought she was the shiznit. We kept having to pull him off of her but the best part was by the end of the hike he was so tired he could barely move and we almost had to carry him back to the truck. He kept laying down anywhere there was a little bit of shade, Mable did just fine and lead Cato on a merry chase.

Lachelle Junior Prom

I traveled to St. George this past weekend with Kim, Colby's brother Lyman's wife and their son Bentley, to help Lachelle get ready for Junior Prom. As you can see, they make a very striking couple and Lachelle looked fabulous!

Lachelle went to Junior Prom with her boyfriend, Jeremy, and had a really good time. Jeremy borrowed a sweet classic car to take Lachelle to Junior Prom. Richard, being the over-protective father that he is, was not content with the condition of the car and pulled out his air compressor to adjust the level of air in the car's tires. Richard even went so far as the check the gas gauge on the car to make sure that there wouldn't be any problems bringing his beautiful daughter home. Do you blame him for being concerned?!
